What Is Co-Warehousing?

Traditionally, co-warehousing is defined as sharing space with other small businesses in one open-concept facility with services such as fulfillment, inventory management, etc. Many companies share a singular warehouse. However, RISE treats co-warehousing differently, redefining co-warehousing. RISE gives small businesses their own warehouse space within four walls to allow for that company to organize their inventory the way they want. Each RISE Commercial District boasts a variety of sizes available for companies to operate their businesses effectively in a space that makes sense for their needs.

The problem with traditional co-warehousing is that companies are stuck organizing the standard way, and their workspace is shared.  This may hinder their operational efficiency as their warehouse layout is stuck. The beauty of warehouse and office space at RISE Commercial District is that each company can tailor them without the worry of other companies working in the same space. Our facility is a blend of individual warehouse spaces, office spaces, and flex spaces. Store your items and work in your space as you want. Not all companies need fulfillment services. RISE Commercial District has many tenants focused on offering labor services such as landscaping, roofing, plumbing, and other home general contractor services as opposed to fulfilling product orders.

How is RISE Commercial District different from other co-warehousing companies?

This is a common question from our current tenants and potential customers. RISE Commercial District differs from the popular traditional co-warehousing model by focusing on growing businesses that need storage and warehouse space instead of logistics and e-commerce entrepreneurs. RISE redefines co-warehousing.

RISE gives small businesses their own space within four walls to allow that company to organize their inventory the way they want. Think of it as a business park but with smaller spaces. Our facility has over one hundred different spaces carefully crafted to fit the needs of growing and thriving businesses. We are not your average co-working space. We provide amenities, tools, and hands-on training to help businesses go from start-up to scale-up.

How is RISE Commercial District different from self-storage?

RISE Commercial District is NOT self-storage. RISE is individual commercial spaces that are optimized for small businesses. RISE offers unique spaces for businesses whether they need office space, warehouse space, or simple storage space. Most storage units are not zoned properly for small businesses to work in and receive mail. However, RISE is carefully zoned and offers a business address for each of our tenants. A typical storage unit size is a 10×10 space. RISE offers warehouse spaces as small as 10×26 up to 2300 square feet. The main difference between self-storage and commercial warehouse space is the size of the spaces and the amenities available. You can easily operate your business from a commercial space, and you can’t at a self-storage unit. Determining how much space you need for your business is difficult. One of the best ways to understand your storage capacity is to calculate your warehouse capacity usage.

Although RISE shares features with traditional co-warehousing facilities as well as self-storage facilities, our Districts are unique to both. Feel free to contact us with more questions regarding RISE.
